TWENTY YEARS OF BEATDISC

A film about the last independent record store in Western Sydney, Australia.

This is the story of the most unlikely record store to have survived 20 years in the most uncommon of places, Parramatta.

Western Sydney really isn’t the most obvious of places for a record store like Beatdisc to thrive in, but it did.

As other record stores came and went, Beatdisc remained strong and became a stepping stone of iconic culture that was birthed from the embrace of DIY punk rock ethics, community spirit and passion. This film deconstructs the journey from concept to success, whilst taking a detour along the way through the mosh pits of their infamous in-stores.
